Accommodations

Upon acceptance to attend the Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy (HLCA), students will receive information to register online. At that time students will have the opportunity to inform the U.S. Space & Rocket Center (USSRC) of any special needs, dietary requests, and travel details.

Health and Security: The USSRC has a 24-hour nursing and security staff on site.

Special Needs:The USSRC routinely hosts participants with special needs. Please inform the nursing staff, prior to attending the program, so that we can accommodate your needs.

Dietary Needs: Please include any special dietary needs in our online registration. Our food service staff will contact you to discuss details as necessary.

Expenses: Honeywell covers the cost of the participant’s tuition, room, and board upon arrival in Huntsville and until departure. Participants should bring extra spending money for miscellaneous purchases. Automated Teller Machines (ATM’s) are located at the airports and the USSRC for a fee. We also recommend that participants have a credit card in case of emergencies.

Travel: You are responsible for your own travel arrangements to and from Huntsville, Alabama. At this time we are unable to pick up participants arriving by bus to Huntsville. (Bus and train service is not recommended for participants.)

International Students: International students are sponsored to be in USA at USSRC, Alabama only for the duration of the program. Honeywell and the USSRC are not responsible for students beyond the specified times of the program.

Accommodations: Students lodge at the Habitat Dormitory on the grounds of the USSRC. Males and females are separated by floors in the building. Under no circumstances are participants allowed in rooms or on floors of members of the opposite sex.

Students are housed with 12-15 occupants to a bunk-bed-style room. Shower and toilet facilities are in a separate area on each floor. Each participant will have a small locker to store personal items. Bed sheets, blankets, and pillows will be provided to all participants. You are welcome to bring an extra pillow or blanket if your luggage space permits.

Code of Conduct and Dress Code: The students will be expected to follow a strict code of conduct and dress code each day.
